Polarization Effects in the AgBr Interaction Potential
نویسنده
چکیده
A pairwise additive interaction potential (including a shell model to account for ion polarizabilities) was developed for describing crystalline AgBr. It was constructed by fitting experimental data, including lattice constant, phonon frequencies at the r and X points, dielectric constant, cohesive energy, and elastic constants. The predicted results compare favorably with experimentally measured values. The influence of polarization effects on the various crystal properties is discussed.

Heterostructured Ag3PO4/AgBr/Ag plasmonic photocatalyst with enhanced photocatalytic activity and stability under visible light.
A heterostructured Ag3PO4/AgBr/Ag plasmonic photocatalyst was prepared by a rational in situ ion exchange reaction between Ag3PO4 micro-cubes and Br(-) in aqueous solution followed by photoreduction. The photocatalytic activities of obtained photocatalysts were measured by the degradation of methyl orange (MO) and methylene blue (MB) under visible light irradiation (λ≥ 400 nm). Compared to AgBr...
متن کاملComparative Study of Antimicrobial Activity of AgBr and Ag Nanoparticles (NPs)
The diverse mechanism of antimicrobial activity of Ag and AgBr nanoparticles against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and also against several strains of candida was explored in this study. The AgBr nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared by simple precipitation of silver nitrate by potassium bromide in the presence of stabilizing polymers. The used polymers (PEG, PVP, PVA, and HEC) influence...
متن کاملDensities and Excess Volumes of Fused Halides
Densities of molten AgBr-AX (A = Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs; X = Br or CI), AgBr-AgCl, KBr-NaBr, KBr-CsBr, KCl-KBr, and KCl-CsBr mixtures have been measured at 0.5 mole fraction using the method of Archimedean displacement. The excess volumes of mixing are all positive, except for the AgBr-LiBr system. Attempts to relate the excess volumes of the binary AgBr-ABr systems to the second order conformal sol...
متن کاملTowards Measurement of Polarization Properties of Skin using the Ellipsometry Technique
Introduction: The human skin is an active medium from the optical point of view. Therefore, the diagnostic and therapeutic techniques employing light are increasing. Current optical techniques are based on the measurement of the intensity of reflected absorbed or backscattered light from or within skin. Studies have shown that biological tissues, and in particular skin, demonstrate polarization...
متن کاملEvidence of the Potential Shift Mechanism in Crevice Corrosion (RESEARCH NOTES)
Previous research has indicated a qualitative resemblance between the current distribution along actively corroding crevice walls and currents measured in corresponding anodic polarization plots. Using detailed measurements of the potential gradient along the crevice, a semi-quantitative current distribution was calculated for the crevice wall using a double numerical differentiation method. Th...
